FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is SteelCut really free?
Yes. The cutting optimizer, warehouse, history, PDF reports and labels are free with no account required. Your data stays in your browser.
Do I need to create an account?
No. SteelCut works entirely in your browser and stores your jobs locally. Use session export/import to move between devices.
Which diameters are supported?
The built-in rebar library covers Φ8 to Φ40 with standard weights. You can also work with generic bars without a diameter.
Does it account for the saw blade width?
Yes — set the saw kerf in Settings and every cut plan includes it between pieces, plus a minimum length for reusable offcuts.
Can I use it offline?
After the first load, the app itself works offline. Only the QR code image and the PDF library load from the internet.
