The short version
SteelCut runs entirely in your browser. There is no SteelCut server, no user account, and no analytics. Your cutting plans, projects, and settings are stored on your own device (in your browser's local storage) and never sent to us — because there is no "us" server to send them to.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not create accounts, we do not log your activity, we do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not set tracking cookies. The only thing stored is functional data your browser keeps locally so the app works: your jobs, stock, warehouse offcuts, and settings.
What stays on your device
- Cutting plans, projects, clients, and job history (browser local storage)
- App settings such as language, saw kerf, and expert mode
- Offline cache (the service worker stores app files on your device so SteelCut works without internet)
You can delete all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this page.
Third-party services
SteelCut contacts exactly two outside services, and only when you use the feature that needs them:
- cdnjs.cloudflare.com — delivers the jsPDF library used to generate PDF reports. Loaded when you export a PDF.
- api.qrserver.com — renders QR code images for piece labels. Contacted when you generate QR labels; the label data is sent to this API solely to produce the image.
These services have their own privacy policies. Nothing else leaves your browser.
Exports you download
PDF reports, DXF files, CSV exports, and labels you download are files on your device — what you do with them is up to you.
